What is an ILS specialist?

ILS stands for Integrated Logistics Support. ILS specialists are professionals who manage and coordinate all aspects of logistics for complex systems, often in industries like defense, aerospace, and manufacturing. Their primary role is to ensure that systems are reliable, maintainable, and cost-effective throughout their lifecycle. This includes planning for maintenance, supply chain management, technical documentation, training, and support to maximize system availability and performance. ILS specialists work closely with engineering, procurement, and support teams to achieve these goals.
