Job description

Description

Portland, OR | BMW | Luxury performance brand | Flat-rate | European technician | ASE certified | Luxury brand welcome | Veterans encouraged to apply | $27 - $45/hr flat rate DOE

Swickard Auto Group is a hospitality company that happens to sell and service cars. We believe the best guest experiences start with the best employee experiences. That's why we've grown to 40+ rooftops across the West Coast, Alaska, and Hawaii while maintaining a culture built on one simple idea: do right by people, every time.

BMW of Portland is part of Swickard's growing Pacific Northwest portfolio -- a performance luxury brand with a passionate guest base and a service department built on technical excellence. Our guests trust us with some of the most driver-focused vehicles on the road, and the technicians who earn that trust bring the skills, the standard, and the craft to back it up.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Diagnose and repair BMW vehicles across a full range of systems -- engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, suspension, HVAC, and beyond -- using BMW diagnostic platforms and OEM procedures

Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans -- communicating findings clearly to service advisors to support guest authorization

Execute repairs to BMW factory specifications with speed, accuracy, and zero shortcuts

Complete repair orders accurately -- documenting all work performed, parts used, and labor with precision

Stay current on BMW technical service bulletins, software updates, and evolving repair procedures

Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation that reflects the standard of the BMW brand

Contribute to a shop culture where quality, accountability, and craftsmanship are the baseline

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

2+ years of dealership technician experience -- BMW or European luxury brand experience strongly preferred

Technicians from Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volvo, Land Rover, Lexus, or similar luxury backgrounds are encouraged to apply -- your diagnostic foundation transfers

Strong diagnostic depth -- comfortable working through complex, multi-system problems methodically and accurately

BMW ISTA or equivalent European diagnostic platform experience preferred

ASE certifications a strong plus -- BMW factory certifications highly valued

Low comeback rate and a personal standard for quality that doesn't require managing

Physically capable of performing the demands of the role -- lifting, bending, and standing throughout the shift

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

A craftsmanship mindset -- you take pride in every repair that leaves your bay

WHAT WE OFFER

$27 - $45/hr flat rate -- rate based on experience, certifications, and diagnostic capability

Progressive pay plan -- BMW factory certifications and tenure increase your rate over time

Paid BMW manufacturer training and certification support

Medical, dental, and vision insurance

Life insurance and supplemental coverage options

Paid time off and paid holidays

State-of-the-art facility with current BMW diagnostic tools and technology

Clear career path -- strong technicians grow into senior tech, shop foreman, and service management roles at Swickard

Employee vehicle purchase and service discounts

WHY BMW OF PORTLAND

BMW is one of the most technically sophisticated performance luxury brands in the world -- the diagnostic and repair work here is genuinely challenging and rewarding for a technician who takes their craft seriously

Portland is a growing, design-forward city with a passionate BMW guest base and consistent service volume -- steady flat-rate hours and real earning potential

Swickard is one of the fastest-growing dealer groups in the country -- ranked Top 5 in North America for reputation in the automotive industry

A well-equipped shop with the tools, training, and management support to keep a skilled technician productive and growing

Our HEART values -- Honor, Engage, Anticipate, Respond, Thank -- shape how we treat our team just as much as our guests

Leadership that invests in your certifications, your development, and your long-term career growth

BMW of Portland offers consistent volume, a loyal guest base, and a management team that understands what it takes to keep a skilled technician engaged and earning. If you've built your technical foundation at another luxury brand, your diagnostic skills transfer directly -- and we'll invest in your BMW certification from there.

If you're a motivated flat-rate technician with luxury brand experience and a drive to grow your craft at one of Portland's premier performance brands -- we'd like to meet you.
