(Sr) Project Manager, Feasibility Site Activation

Title: Project Manager, FSA

Role Summary:

As a Project Manager, Feasibility and Site Activation (FSA) at ICON, you will be responsible for planning and manage Feasibility and Site Activation (FSA) activities for assigned clinical studies.

What You Will Do:

You will oversee site start-up and activation workstreams, ensuring deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing FSA project plans, timelines, and deliverables for assigned studies.

  • Coordinating feasibility assessments, country and site recommendations, and start-up strategies in collaboration with functional experts.

  • Overseeing essential document collection, ethics and regulatory submissions, and site activation milestones.

  • Tracking progress against timelines and KPIs, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation plans.

  • Serving as the primary FSA contact for internal teams and customers for study-level start-up matters.

  • Contributing to process improvement and best practice sharing within the FSA project management team.

Your Profile:

You will have solid site start-up and activation experience, with the ability to manage competing priorities and develop your team.
Required qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, healthcare, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong experience in clinical research with a focus on feasibility, site activation, or start-up project management.

  • Proven ability to manage project plans, timelines, and cross-functional coordination in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good understanding of regulatory, ethics, and contractual requirements affecting study start-up.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Detail-oriented and proactive, with a commitment to quality, predictability, and customer satisfaction.

  • Willingness to travel as required (approximately 10%)

Title: Senior Project Manager, FSA

Role Summary:

Accountable for driving and accelerating the activation of global investigative sites in line with, or ahead of, the study's contractual timelines, within budgeted resources, with quality output, and exceeding sponsor expectations. Accountable for the overall coordination, implementation and completion of site activation activities for large global or complex projects of work in line with ICON/sponsor SOPs as appropriate, including regulatory/ethics, site contracts, essential documents, and site activations. Interacts with internal teams and stakeholders, as well as sponsor teams and stakeholders, and presents to Exec Management as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Recognize, exemplify and adhere to ICON's values , and contribute to the "Own It" culture at ICON

  • Accountable for driving and accelerating the activation of global investigative sites in line with, or ahead of, the study's contractual timelines, within budgeted resources, with quality output, and exceeding sponsor expectations.

  • Accountable for the overall coordination, implementation and completion of site activation activities for large global or complex projects of work in line with ICON/sponsor SOPs as appropriate, including regulatory/ethics, site contracts, essential documents, and site activations.

  • Interacts with internal teams and stakeholders, as well as sponsor teams and stakeholders, and presents to Exec Management as needed.

  • Lead studies with highest quality standards to exceed customer expectations.

  • Review study and partnership budgets for proposals and sales as needed.

  • Drive assigned studies to meet KPIs and delight customers and sites

  • Act as customer point of contact for assigned studies; resolve study issues and drive exceptional customer delivery

  • Represent FSA at audits and inspections

  • Participate in Business Development opportunities to support the growth of the assigned portfolio, function, and/or region/country(ies)

  • Travel (approximately 10% depending on country structure and direct report levels) domestic and/or international

  • Responsible for performing activities that are in compliance with applicable corporate and departmental policies, standard operating procedures and operating guidelines and performing other duties as assigned by the management

  • Act as a mentor where required

What you need:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3-6 years of experience in a Clinical Research environment

  • Demonstrate proficient organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks with minimal management support and oversight.

  • Exhibits extensive competency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).

  • Completes tasks independently on time and in an efficient manner.

  • Ability to mentor and train others as needed.

  • Show confidence in dealing with internal stakeholders.
