THE ROLE
The Operations Crew Supervisor is a full-time position that is responsible for the day-to-day execution of facility and event operations within the arena. This position supervises Operations Crew Members and temporary labor staff while ensuring the facility remains safe, functional, and event-ready. The role serves as the primary liaison for event conversions, preventive maintenance activities, work order administration, and operational readiness, supporting successful execution of sporting events, concerts, family shows, and other venue activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Operations & Conversions
  • Coordinate and oversee event conversions for all event configurations.
  • Develop, distribute, and execute event setup and teardown checklists.
  • Serve as the operational liaison between Event Management and Operations staff.
  • Assist in ice maintenance and repair, installing/taking out ice, hockey wall maintenance, and any ice rink systems related maintenance and repair
  • Ensure all event spaces are prepared according to event specifications and timelines.
  • Participate in pre-event, event-day, and post-event operational meetings as required.
  • Monitor event readiness and resolve operational issues during events.

Staff Leadership
  • Directly supervise Operations Crew Members.
  • Coordinate temporary staffing resources and assignments.
  • Develop daily work schedules and task assignments.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to operational staff.
  • Ensure staff follow safety procedures, department standards, and operational policies.

Facility Maintenance & Asset Management
  • Administer the Altum work order system and track completion of assigned work.
  • Coordinate and execute preventive maintenance programs.
  • Conduct facility inspections and identify maintenance needs.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and operational asset inventories.
  • Coordinate repair activities with vendors and contractors as necessary.
  • Monitor facility conditions and recommend corrective actions.

Safety & Compliance
  • Promote a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and guests.
  • Support OSHA compliance initiatives and safety training programs.
  • Document operational and safety-related incidents as required.
  • Ensure proper equipment operation and adherence to safety procedures.

Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain operational documentation, inspection records, and maintenance logs.
  • Generate reports related to work orders, preventative maintenance, and operational activities.
  • Support departmental budgeting and inventory processes as assigned.
  • Assist with operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises all employees in premium spaces. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
  • Associate's degree in Facility Management, Operations Management, Sports Management, or related field preferred; OR Minimum 3-5 years of facility, arena, stadium, convention center, or event operations experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), work order platforms, or asset management software preferred.
  • Experience leading event conversions and operational crews strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ice maintenance and/or ice resurfacing machine preferred.

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of arena, facility, or event operations.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and facility systems.
  • Ability to supervise, motivate, and develop staff.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced event environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational software systems.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular schedules based on event activity.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
