Ice Rink Manager Responsibilities
Facility Operations
- Oversee daily operation of the ice rink and surrounding facilities
- Schedule public skating, hockey, figure skating, lessons, rentals, and special events
- Ensure ice quality through resurfacing and maintenance coordination
- Monitor refrigeration, HVAC, lighting, and facility systems
- Coordinate opening and closing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and overall appearance of the facility
Ice Maintenance & Safety
- Supervise ice resurfacing operations using equipment such as a Zamboni
- Monitor ice thickness and temperature
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and risk-management policies
- Conduct routine safety inspections of boards, glass, locker rooms, bleachers, and exits
- Respond to accidents, injuries, and emergency situations
