Position Summary

The Custodial Staff is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the building and grounds. This includes, but is not limited to, cleaning public spaces, offices, locker rooms, restrooms, exterior grounds, etc.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $16.00.

About the Venue

Located in the heart of the Maryland Heights Park Lake District in Maryland Heights, Centene Community Ice Center and Saint Louis Music Park is an $83 million project funded through a public-private partnership with support from the City of Maryland Heights, St. Louis County, and the State of Missouri. This state-of-the-art facility features four NHL-sized ice sheets, including a covered outdoor rink designed as a multi-purpose venue for concerts, festivals, and other events. The primary tenants and major capital partners of the Centene Community Ice Center include the St. Louis Blues, Lindenwood University, St. Louis Blues Alumni, the St. Louis Blues AAA program, and the St. Louis Lady Cyclones. In addition to on-ice activity that extends beyond hockey, the facility offers sports medicine, therapy, training, and other ancillary medical services through Mercy Rehabilitation in partnership with EXOS Training. Other tenants include TPH Academy, the Pure Hockey retail store, 101 ESPN Radio, and more. The facility also features many food and beverage options, including 314 Social, which strives to be a St. Louis hockey bar and restaurant by providing a flair to St. Louis favorites; the Schnucks Grab N Go for quick and easy selections; and our general concessions.

Responsibilities
  • Confer daily with Operations Manager/Supervisor on Duty to review and receive assignments.
  • Daily custodial duties including cleaning of public spaces, offices, locker rooms, restrooms, exterior grounds, etc.
  • Operate from a routine checklist, which will include dusting, sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash, restocking, cleaning glass, and operating cleaning equipment.
  • Follow basic instructions and directions.
  • Work with basic cleaning chemicals to clean public spaces.
  • Operate an assortment of equipment, including buffers/burnishers, walk-behind scrubbers, blowers, vacuums, and others as needed.
  • Be a key player in keeping facilities clean & beautiful by regularly checking public spaces.
  • Note and report any building components in need of repair.
  • Assist other department personnel as deemed necessary.
  • Carry a radio to communicate the needs of events with other personnel.
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience with using cleaning equipment such as buffers/burnishers, scrubbers, blowers, and vacuums is a plus.
  • Friendly and welcoming.
  • Able to handle a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on events, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
