Description The City of Cleveland Heights is seeking a Community Center Maintenance/Ice Rink Zamboni Driver for the Department of Parks & Recreation. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Examples of Duties ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only, and is not a comprehensive listing of all the duties and responsibilities performed. The custodial care, cleaning and maintenance of the Community Center facilities, including the Ice Rink and the Senior Activity Center.

Operation of Zamboni machine to maintain ice surface. Keeping machinery, equipment and tools in operable condition, including inspecting equipment, refilling fluids, cleaning and refueling vehicles, monitoring to maintain efficiency and safety of equipment and reporting faulty equipment. Monitoring inventory levels of materials, tools and supplies.

Ensuring availability of adequate supplies to conduct work activities, initiate requests for new and replacement items, stock and distribute supplies Performance of custodial duties including cleaning, dusting and polishing in the community center, including but not limited to skate rink, locker rooms, break room, rest rooms, skate rental areas, gyms, fitness areas and senior activity center. Trash disposal. Setting up rooms and spaces for meetings and events, including moving and arranging tables and folding chairs, loading and unloading materials.

Upkeep and maintenance of the property grounds including but not limited to grass mowing, weed eating, edging and power washing. Will help with the upkeep and maintenance of city parks when necessary and directed. Typical Qualifications REQUIREMENTS A valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B is required for this position.

Possession of a certification of a certified Ice Technician or the ability to be certified as an Ice Technician within 6 months of employment Be in excellent physical condition with the ability to perform manual labor Be knowledgeable in basic mathematical concepts The ability to safely lift approximately 100 pounds independently Knowledge of safe work practices from the operation of equipment to the proper use of cleaning chemicals Communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with coworkers, supervisors and the general public Must have the flexibility to work either five day 8-hour shifts or four day 10-hour shifts (as determined by the Director of Parks & Recreation) that include weekends and evenings. Available to work seasonal shift changes depending on the needs of the department and for emergencies requiring overtime hours. Able to work nights and weekend if required.

Reliable attendance and punctuality EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. CERTIFICATION/ LICENSURE: Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Ohio commercial driver's license (CDL).
