Mechanical Technician (some Electrical Component)

We are looking for a Technician that houses the skill set of mechanical and electrical knowledge. This position will help us with performing repairs and maintenance tasks on our equipment.

A Mechanical Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to become a strong asset of the Factory Maintenance Team providing expertise and leading the way to improvements.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 4:00AM - 12:00PM

Salary: $30 - 40 per hour depending upon experience

Location: North Aurora, IL

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify defects, execute maintenance plan and troubleshoot equipment.

  • Understand Power distribution system (up to 480 volts)

  • Control systems – Basic PLC, Motor, sensor, drives and Basic electrical circuits, Basic understanding of device communication networks

  • Mechanical system – Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Mechanical Drive systems

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to maintain, optimize and improve processes and performance, with key indicators such as safety, quality, and cost.

  • Review maintenance plans and optimize to drive reliability of equipment.

  • Reviews and reads engineering drawings (electrical and mechanical)

  • Coach operator skills- on operation and troubleshooting existing process and equipment.

  • Build technical procedures for proper operation and maintenance of equipment

  • Train other technical resources and needed

  • Lead with continuous improvement mindset

  • Identify and create Work orders, give technical feedback on work performed

  • Improve / Create necessary task list

  • Ability to work as a team and lead as an individual

  • Positive conflict resolution skills

  • Strong focus on production reliability improvements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-4 years Electrical and/or Mechanical experience or completion of Technical Degree

  • Strong Mechanical skills

  • Electrical skills (basic electrical circuits, 480V power distribution, industrial wiring)

  • Knowledge and use of electrical test equipment

  • Welding, Fabrication and Machining skills

  • Ability to analyze problem and make decisions

  • Knowledge on how to properly use tools

  • Ability to self-manage

  • Trouble shooting electrical and mechanical problems

  • Knowledge on motors, pumps, drives, and sensors

  • Ability to work independently

  • Solid work ethic and self-motivated

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
