Job description

Job Overview:
  • 8+ year experience in managing Mainframe Storage Systems which includes both Tape and DASD systems.
  • Extensive experience of Mainframe Storage which includes work experience with DASD and VTS/Grid โ€“ IBM (DS8kโ€™s, TS7kโ€™s),
  • Tape management systems โ€“ IBM RRM, OAM.
  • Virtual tape solutions and management.
  • Global Mirror with Practice, Global Copy, FDR Software, ACS Routines
  • Manage the replication using tools like CSM, DSCLI.
  • IBM Utilities such as IDCAMS, ISMF, Dcollect.
  • Support Disaster Recovery within Mainframe environment.
  • Administer DFSMS (ACS routines, storage groups/classes), DFSMShsm (HSM policies, space management, migration/recall), and Catalog/ICF management (IDCAMS).
  • Partner with backup/recovery teams on policy, FlashCopy/Snap, DR readiness, and test execution.
  • Handle any hardware/software related MLC and code load update on both Tape and DASD systems.
  • Perform Data Recovery for Tape and DASD.
  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, DRaaS Coordinators, clients, and vendors, while regularly updating managers on Drill status.
  • Provide training, technical guidance, and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Demonstrate strong communication, documentation, coordination, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
