Role Name - IBM BPM Middleware Engineer

ROLE_DESCRIPTION -

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Middleware Engineer to manage, support, and optimize IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW) solutions. This role will also be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of business automation platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead or participate in the setup, configuration, and administration of IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation (CP4BA) both on-premises and on cloud (OpenShift/Kubernetes).

- Manage middleware components (WebSphere Application Server/Liberty, DB2/Oracle, MQ, FileNet, LDAP integration, etc.) for BAW and Cloud Pak.

- Perform regular health checks, capacity planning, system monitoring, and performance tuning of middleware and workflow environments.

- Execute patches, upgrades, and hotfixes for IBM BAW and related middleware components while minimizing downtime.

- Automate routine tasks involving deployment, scaling, and lifecycle management using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, or similar.

- Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles for internal support teams.

- Collaborate with development, OA, infrastructure, and security teams for environment provisioning, deployments, and troubleshooting cross-functional issues.

- Implement, configure, and monitor HA/DR solutions for IBM BAW and Cloud Pak at the middleware layer.

- Provide support for IBM BAW environments, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of incidents impacting business workflows.

- Participate in weekend production deployment and support.

- Ensure compliance with security guidelines and best practices throughout middleware stack.

Required Skills and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW, BPM, or similar) in production environments.

- Experience setting up and supporting IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation (CP4BA), ideally on Red Hat OpenShift.

- Strong knowledge of middleware technologies: IBM WebSphere Application Server, Liberty, Elastic Search, Postgres DB. DB2/Oracle, IBM MO, Kafka, and LDAP integrations.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, Ansible, Bash/PowerShell scripting).

- Demonstrated expertise in issue troubleshooting, performance tuning, and environment management.

- Strong knowledge on Open telemetry monitoring tool - Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, Splunk

- Familiarity with high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR) configurations, and related concepts.

- Experience with cloud and containerization platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift).

- Good understanding of ITIL JIRA, Service NOW, Zapplets
