What you'll be doing

You'll join CIBC's Middleware & Business Intelligence (MW & BI), Cloud Engineering and Transformation team as an Infrastructure Engineer specializing in IBM Cognos and Tableau server components. In this role, you'll serve as the engineering subject matter expert for these business intelligence and data integration platforms, ensuring their optimal performance, scalability, and security. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust solutions that support CIBC's data-driven initiatives. Your expertise will be critical in troubleshooting complex issues, driving continuous improvements, and supporting cloud transformation efforts. You'll also play a key role in evaluating new technologies and best practices, helping shape the future of CIBC's analytics and reporting infrastructure. Experience with additional MW and BI products such as Informatica Power Center, SAS, Alteryx, Dynatrace, SiteMinder, and SiteScope will be considered an asset during the hiring process.

How you'll succeed

  • Engineering Leadership - Act as the subject matter expert for IBM Cognos and Tableau server components providing guidance and technical support to project teams.

  • System Management - Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of BI infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.

  • Collaboration & Transformation - Work closely with cloud engineering and transformation teams to support migration, modernization, and integration initiatives.

  • Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement - Identify and resolve technical issues and recommend enhancements to improve reliability and efficiency.

  • Documentation & Compliance - Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
