The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.
JOB PURPOSE: Soar above Fort Lauderdale at Ibis Sky Lounge-an adults-only, indoor-outdoor rooftop retreat offering sweeping views of the Intracoastal Waterway and coastline. With polished service, globally inspired small plates, handcrafted cocktails, and a curated wine selection, Ibis provides an elevated dining and social experience. From intimate VIP gatherings to vibrant sunset soirées, every visit is designed to deliver memorable guest experiences while reflecting Omni's standards of hospitality and excellence.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Adhere to all Omni rules, policies, procedures, and standards
  • Greet guests by utilizing the All-In impression standards set forth by Omni
  • Set tables according to type of event and service standards as directed by leadership
  • Suggestively sell items and answer questions/offer suggestions on both food and beverage menu selections
  • Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests
  • Record transaction in MICROS system in a timely manner
  • Adhere to cash handling standards
  • Ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage
  • Present accurate check to guest and process payment
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
  • Station set-up and breakdown/side-work
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by leadership
  • Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 1 year serving experience
  • Must acquire TIPS and ServSafe certifications
  • Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting wines
  • Previous cash handling experience required
  • Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor
  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays

ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS:
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Position requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, twisting, and consistent use of hands and arms
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments
