Job description

Job Summary: Software Engineer 4 - AI Test Engineer (Java / React)
Location: Charlotte, NC • Dallas, TX • Chandler, AZ • Des Moines, IA • Raleigh, NC | Hybrid (3 days onsite/week)
About the Role:
Join Wells Fargo's Identity and Access Management (IAM) Tools Engineering team as a Software Engineer 4 focused on AI Test Engineering. Drive next-generation enterprise security by delivering high-quality, AI-enabled identity solutions. This is a unique opportunity to lead quality engineering, automated testing, and AI/ML validation for strategic IAM modernization projects in a dynamic, highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated test frameworks for enterprise Java/React applications and AI/ML workflows
- Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies for AI/ML systems, including validation of model accuracy, fairness, and performance
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and modern DevOps practices
- Conduct functional, integration, performance, security, and API testing with robust quality metrics and risk assessments
- Validate IAM platform functionality, including access automation, governance, and privileged access management
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant solutions
- Mentor team members and champion modern software engineering and quality assurance standards
- Analyze and troubleshoot complex issues to drive continuous improvement and innovation
Required Skills and Experience:
- 7+ years software development engineering (Java, JavaScript, React)
- 5+ years software testing for enterprise web applications and REST APIs
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining test automation frameworks
- Proven track record integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Experience testing AI/ML applications and validating prompt-response workflows
- Background in IAM, security, or access management solutions
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Authorized to work in the US without current or future sponsorship
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with machine learning, neural networks, NLP, generative AI, and model evaluation
- Familiarity with Selenium, SpecFlow, Vulcan, Postman, and Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence)
- Knowledge of cloud-native applications (Azure, GCP, AWS)
- Exposure to DevSecOps and large-scale enterprise modernization programs
- Security testing, vulnerability assessment, and regulated environment expertise
