Position Summary
At Extivita, the Hyperbaric Technician role exists at the intersection of technical excellence, patient trust, and human dignity. This position is not simply about operating a hyperbaric chamber. It is about stewarding lives in vulnerable moments with calm presence, competence, and compassion.
The Hyperbaric Technician supports safe, coordinated, and effective multiplace hyperbaric oxygen therapy by stewarding pressure, oxygen, timing, communication, and safety for patients and team members.
As assigned and trained, the Hyperbaric Technician may serve in either the Inside Chamber Tender or Chamber Console Operator function during treatments. Working with another qualified team member, the technician helps provide end-to-end oversight of treatment delivery while maintaining clear role assignment, communication, and safety accountability for each dive.
This role requires technical discipline, situational awareness, calm decision-making, and clear communication, particularly under pressure.

- Serve as the primary responder inside the chamber or the command operator at the console during emergencies, as assigned.
- Execute emergency procedures, including fire response or fire suppression, power failure, treatment pause, rapid decompression, medical emergency, and system failure protocols.
- Maintain composure and clear direction during emergency situations.
- Ensure strict adherence to hyperbaric safety standards and procedures.
Post-Treatment and Documentation
- Assist with safe patient exit and post-treatment observation.
- Complete treatment logs and compliance documentation.
