As a hygiene coordinator, your duties include updating medical records, greeting and signing in patients on arrival, and answering questions about procedures. You also schedule appointments and may perform basic accounting tasks, such as handling payments and printing statements. Job qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent. Many employers prefer candidates with administrative experience or prior positions in a dental office.

Hygiene Coordinators often face challenges such as ensuring compliance with strict sanitation protocols, managing staff training, and keeping up with changing health regulations. To effectively address these challenges, it's important to stay updated on the latest industry standards, foster clear communication with team members, and implement structured checklists for cleaning schedules. Collaborating closely with both management and frontline staff helps ensure that hygiene standards are consistently met, and regular audits can help identify areas for improvement.
