Backyard Products is looking for qualified candidates for our Hybrid Warehouse amp; Administrative Associate in Elgin, IL. Our National Installation Organization is one of the largest in the industry, with 33 branch locations throughout the country.
This role combines warehouse responsibilities with administrative support, allowing the employee to gain experience in both operations and office functions. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage tasks across multiple areas. Construction and/or installation scheduling experience a plus but not required.
Warehouse Responsibilities:
  • Be physical, repeatedly lifting 60 lbs., able to use a miter (chop) and panel saw basic hand tools.
  • Safely and efficiently receive, store, and organize incoming inventory.
  • Stage products very accurately and on time from a pick- sheet.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies or damages.
  • Assist in maintaining warehouse cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, and other machinery as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely order fulfillment.
Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Urgency in performing duties including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and heavy emphasis on scheduling installs. Extensive contact with the end user to ensure site readiness and delivery by deadlines to homeowner.
  • Competencies in problem solving, planning and out of the box thinking
  • Familiarity with SalesForce or other CRM systems
  • Communicate with sub-contractor installers daily
  • Be concise and detail oriented in written communication.
  • Support management with general administrative tasks such as data entry and report generation.
  • Handle customer inquiries, providing prompt and courteous service.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in Business or Construction preferred.
  • Previous warehouse or administrative experience is required, bi-lingual Spanish is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office amp; SalesForce or CRM software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift and move items 60 lbs. frequently and perform warehouse duties.
  • Forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain certification)
