Controls Engineer

Boise, ID – Nampa, ID

Engineering systems integration company works on automation and control system projects for clients in industries such as life sciences, water/ wastewater, data centers, manufacturing, semiconductor facilities, building automation, food and beverage, etc.


OVERVIEW

The role entails DCS/ PLC/ SCADA/ HMI programming, hardware design, network architecture design, instrumentation/ electrical design, check-out/ start-up support, etc.

 

ROLE/ RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop process control system software and hardware, including DCS, PLC, HMI, SCADA programming and design.

• Design, develop, and implement control system logic software and hardware to meet process, machine, and integrated system requirements.

• Develop control logic software and user interface applications.

• Develop schematics detailing control system configuration and wiring, and design equipment panel layouts on AutoCAD software.

 

REQUIRED/ HIGHLY PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• BSEE or similar with 2+ yrs experience

• PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and field instrumentation

• Ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram

• DCS - Siemens SIMATIC PCS 7, CFC and SFC, and AS 410 / S7-400H

• PROFIBUS PA/DP, PROFINET, and redundant industrial networks

• PCS 7 OS / WinCC operator systems

• read a design input documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, I/O list, control narratives, cause & effect diagrams, control panel layouts, testing acceptance criteria, etc.

• Electrical schematics, Power Distribution, Control panels, and process control narratives, NEC Code

• Implementing/ testing/ commissioning/ qualifying automation solutions

• various S7 modules, AVEVA SCADA, network design, virtualization, controller migration (all a Bonus)
