Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented*Commercial HVAC Technician *to support customers after system installation. You must have an EPA Universal and be able to Program controls. This role focuses on equipment start-up, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing service for commercial and industrial HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will ensure that installed systems perform as designed, operate efficiently, and meet client expectations for comfort and reliability.
This position requires between five and fifteen percent travel, primarily within the greater Portland area. Travel may include overnight stays. All business travel expenses are reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform equipment start-up and commissioning of newly installed HVAC systems, including verifying proper operation and settings.
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to maximize system life and efficiency.
  • Diagnose, service, and repair HVAC equipment issues such as electrical faults, refrigerant leaks, or airflow imbalances.
  • Verify that control systems and safety devices are functioning correctly.
  • Work with project managers and installation teams to resolve post-installation issues quickly and effectively.
  • Document all service and maintenance work performed, including test results, parts used, and system adjustments.
  • Provide clear communication to customers about system performance, recommended improvements, and service needs.
  • Maintain compliance with safety standards, codes, and company procedures.
  • Participate in training to stay current with HVAC technologies, diagnostic tools, and energy efficiency practices.

Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of commercial HVAC service or maintenance experience (installation background a plus).
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and post-installation troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and manufacturer specifications
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in diverse environments (rooftops, mechanical rooms, outdoor conditions).
  • Must have and EP Universal. Nice to have 06A license /LEB (Limited Energy/ Electrical Basic).Understand and perform all electrical work associated with HVAC and refrigeration systems, including:
    • Installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of HVAC/R electrical components
    • Working on both low-voltage and line-voltage systems
    • No limits on voltage, phase, or amperage for licensed electricians
    • This Service Technician should be license forcommercial HVAC electrical work, including wiring for equipment.
    • Electricalm theory, thermastat wiring andn IT connection
