Job Title: Mobile HVAC/R Technician
Location: WaukeshaWI
Employment Type: Full-Time
Are you an experienced HVAC/R professional who thrives on solving complex mechanical challenges? We are seeking a highly skilled Mobile HVAC/Refrigeration Engineer to support multiple facilities by operating, maintaining, and repairing critical building systems. This is a hands-on role for a technical expert who takes pride in maximizing equipment performance, minimizing downtime, and ensuring safe, energy-efficient operations.
What This Job Involves
As a Mobile HVAC/Refrigeration Engineer, you will operate, inspect, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, rack refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production systems across assigned facilities. You will focus heavily on troubleshooting and repairing HVAC/R and rack refrigeration systems while applying multi-trade knowledge in electrical, piping/plumbing, and material handling equipment to complete daily and weekly assignments.
You will play a key role in preventing system failures through proactive maintenance, detailed recordkeeping, and anticipating necessary repairs to extend equipment life and maintain optimal performance. In addition, you will perform inspections and repairs to both interior and exterior property areas, including walls, flooring, roofing systems, lighting, and fixtures.
What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like
  • Perform preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems
  • Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC/R and rack refrigeration systems and associated equipment
  • Service electrical distribution systems, plumbing systems, and production equipment
  • Complete interior and exterior building repairs, including grounds as assigned
  • Conduct facility inspections and report conditions affecting safe and efficient operations
  • Study and maintain working knowledge of all assigned equipment and systems
  • Submit P-card receipts daily and update work order status in real time
  • Utilize CMMS systems (such as Corrigo) to document and track all work performed
  • Participate in call-in work as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Maintain a valid state drivers license
Required Qualifications
  • Universal CFC Recovery Certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)
  • Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering
  • Strong expertise in HVAC/R, rack refrigeration systems, commercial refrigeration, plumbing, electrical systems, and production equipment maintenance
  • Proven experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial, rack, and/or supermarket refrigeration systems
  • Knowledge of overall system design and applications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using CMMS/work order systems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Two years of trade school education or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, or HVAC
