Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration Technician to join our dynamic field service team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and refrigeration systems across commercial and residential properties. Your expertise will ensure optimal system performance, energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical knowledge and technical skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and repair HVAC systems, refrigeration units, boilers, and mechanical systems in various commercial settings.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and building automation system diagrams to accurately diagnose issues.
  • Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC/R equipment using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
  • Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment including filters, belts, motors, compressors, and controls to ensure reliable operation.
  • Repair or replace mechanical components using hand tools, welding equipment, and other specialized tools while adhering to safety standards.
  • Diagnose complex issues related to refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration and appliance repair.
  • Collaborate with property managers and clients to deliver exceptional customer service while providing clear explanations of repairs and maintenance procedures.

Requirements

  • Valid Journeyman HVAC/Refrigeration license or equivalent certification with comprehensive experience in HVAC system repair and installation.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of HVAC design principles, building automation systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and mechanical systems repair.
  • Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to perform HVAC system maintenance tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols including EPA certification for refrigerants handling.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose equipment issues quickly and accurately.
