Position Summary

The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role ensures systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with manufacturer specifications and local codes. The technician works independently or as part of a service team to provide timely solutions for commercial clients, while maintaining high standards of quality and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, air handlers, and controls

  • Perform preventative maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment to optimize efficiency and longevity

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer manuals

  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant system issues

  • Install HVAC components and ensure proper system operation and calibration

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national codes and safety regulations

  • Maintain accurate service logs, parts usage, and work orders

  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding service needs, recommendations, and estimated costs

  • Operate and maintain service tools and diagnostic equipment

  • Follow company and OSHA safety protocols, including confined space and lift operations

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or HVAC certification preferred

  • 3+ years of commercial HVAC service experience

  • EPA Section 608 Certification

  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration, and controls

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds, work in confined spaces, and at heights

  • Valid driverโ€™s license with clean driving record

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • OSHA safety certification preferred
