HVAC Service Technician

Location: Tri-Valley Area, CA
Full-Time Position
Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join a growing residential and light commercial HVAC team. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing equipment, and providing customers with dependable solutions.

The HVAC Service Technician will perform diagnostics, repairs, preventive maintenance, and system start-ups while maintaining high standards for safety, workmanship, and customer service.

Compensation & Benefits
  • $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems

  • Perform preventive maintenance on heating and air conditioning equipment

  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, airflow, and refrigeration-related issues

  • Identify system problems and recommend appropriate repair options

  • Perform refrigerant recovery, charging, and related HVAC/R procedures

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, equipment specifications, and technical documentation

  • Use meters, gauges, and other diagnostic equipment to accurately identify system issues

  • Perform system start-up, testing, and commissioning as required

  • Complete service documentation and maintain accurate records of work performed

  • Communicate findings and repair recommendations clearly and professionally with customers

  • Maintain compliance with applicable safety procedures, building codes, and industry standards

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of HVAC field experience in service, repair, maintenance, or installation

  • Strong preference for candidates with hands-on HVAC service and diagnostic experience

  • Experience with residential and/or light commercial HVAC systems

  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills

  • Working knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning systems

  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation

  • EPA Type II or Universal Certification preferred

  • Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record

  • Ability to work independently in the field

  • Strong communication and customer-service skills

  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to quality workmanship
