Job description

Job Overview:

Pay Range: $71.34hr - $76.34hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in Transmission & Distribution substation engineering for electric utilities and renewable energy power plants.
  • Experience as an Electrical Project Engineer in substation type applications, including primary (outdoor) physical substation design and required studies.
  • Hands-on experience in producing power single line drawing, substation plan and elevation drawings, general substation arrangement and layout, and equipment erection drawings.
  • Experience with construction details and layouts for high voltage bus, cable, high voltage equipment, conduit, and wiring.
  • Experience with auxiliary power, grounding, and control building layouts.
  • In depth experience applying High Voltage substation North XX standards & guidelines including IEEE & ANSI standards and codes such as the NEC and the NESC.
  • Knowledge of local Grid Codes and related equipment regarding safety, application, sizing, and integration.
  • Experience with both AIS/GIS.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (BSEE preferred).
  • Professional Engineering license in the United States (or a plan to obtain a PE license within a certain period) and willingness to review and seal work.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce power single line drawings and substation plan and elevation drawings.
  • Develop general substation arrangements, layouts, and equipment erection drawings.
  • Design construction details and layouts for high voltage bus, cable, high voltage equipment, conduit, and wiring.
  • Design auxiliary power, grounding, and control building layouts.
  • Apply High Voltage substation North XX standards and guidelines to projects.
  • Review and seal engineering work and the work of others under supervision.
