ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed below. This list shall not be construed as the only duties that may be assigned for the position.

· Works from digital drawings and sketches.

· Regularly applies shop mathematics and interprets complicated drawings to meet specifications.

· Sets up and operates all model shop/tool room machines, including but not limited to grinders, engine lathes, and manual mills to manufacture components to close tolerances and finish specifications.

· Performs all assigned machine and bench operations to alter and/or repair components or products of fairly complex design.

· Creates or improvises tooling, special holding jigs, and fixtures needed to aid in the manufacture or modification of products.

· Must be familiar with the heat treatment process of steel.

· Reports labor, parts completed, tooling requirements, and machine downtime using ERP software.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience and/or Training

3+ years of experience

Hurco Vertical Mill experience is a plus, but will train

Technology/Equipment

Engine lathes, cylindrical and I.D. grinders, drill presses, milling machines, spring winder, attachments and tools; all gauging and measuring equipment normally used in a machine shop; and heat-treating equipment.
