Job description

John Hubert Farmers Insurance is a full-service agency in Lakewood, Colorado, focused on helping families and individuals protect what matters most. We're adding a Sales Producer to our team — a full-time employee role with a base salary, uncapped commission potential, and structured support to help you build a real book of business.

Office Location: 1360 S Wadsworth Blvd, Suite 200, Lakewood, CO 80232

This is a sales-forward role. You'll prospect for new clients, run needs-based conversations, and close policies across personal lines — primarily auto and home insurance. If you're motivated by clear goals, want to be rewarded for your results, and are ready to learn the PC insurance industry from the ground up (or build on experience you already have), this is a strong fit.

IMPORTANT: Please read

  • After submitting your application, watch for an IdealTraits assessment in your email. Completing it is a quick and important step that moves your application to review — and helps us match you with the right opportunity on our team.

Licensing

An active Colorado PC license is preferred. If you're not yet licensed, we'll support you through the process before your start date.

Compensation

  • Variable Compensation: Uncapped commission plan, 50% of all new business commissions
  • Fixed Compensation: $45,000 base salary
Responsibilities

What you’ll do

  • Connect with prospective clients and identify the right coverage for their needs
  • Explain insurance options clearly and professionally (auto, home, and other lines)
  • Follow up with leads, manage a sales pipeline, and track activity consistently
  • Support existing clients with policy reviews and coverage updates
  • Meet individual and team performance goals with coaching support
Requirements

What makes a successful Farmers Sales Producer?

  • A sales or customer-facing background is preferred
  • Must be intrinsically motivated to succeed
  • Must be tenacious and possess a “Hunter Mentality”
  • Must be solution-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Coachability is essential. There are always opportunities to improve.

Common Questions

  • Do I need insurance experience? No. We're open to candidates with transferable skills from sales, customer service, or other client-facing roles. You'll receive structured training from day one.
  • What does training look like? You'll go through a structured onboarding program covering Farmers products, the sales process, customer conversations, and quoting workflows — plus ongoing coaching and performance feedback as you ramp up.
  • Will I need a license? Yes, a Colorado PC license is required. If you don't have one yet, we'll guide you through the process before your start date.
