Job description

Estimate Meaningful Construction Projects in Senior Living Communities

Job Overview

Company: A & G Construction, Inc.

Location: Los Gatos, CA

Compensation: $100,000โ€“$120,000+ per year, plus performance-based bonus

Employment Type: Full-Time

Project Scope: Senior living, assisted living, retirement community, multifamily, and occupied commercial construction projects

Licenses / Certifications: None required

The Opportunity

A & G Construction, Inc. is hiring a Project Estimator to support our growing portfolio of senior living, retirement community, and multifamily construction projects throughout the Bay Area.

This is a strong opportunity for an estimator who enjoys detailed, repeatable estimating work, values team collaboration, and wants to grow with a family-owned company that has built a trusted niche in senior living construction.

Our projects are not typical residential jobs. We work in active senior living and assisted living communities, completing unit turns, renovations, community spaces, waterproofing, concrete, structural repair, and related improvement projects. Many scopes are repeatable by site, which allows the right estimator to build accuracy, speed, and ownership over time.

You will work primarily from the office using A & Gโ€™s internal estimating systems and templates, with occasional site visits when a project requires a visual review.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Prepare accurate estimates for senior living, retirement community, multifamily, and commercial renovation projects.
  • Review scopes, plans, site details, and project information to build complete cost estimates.
  • Use A & Gโ€™s internal templates and estimating systems to price repeatable unit turns and site-specific projects.
  • Coordinate with project managers, ownership, subcontractors, and vendors to confirm pricing, scope, and project requirements.
  • Support larger or more complex projects by working closely with senior leadership.
  • Maintain organized project files, estimate details, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify missing information, scope gaps, or pricing concerns before work moves forward.
  • Help protect project profitability through accurate, consistent, and timely estimating.
  • Visit job sites occasionally when a scope requires in-person review.

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • 3+ years of construction estimating experience.
  • Ability to read plans, scopes, drawings, and project specifications.
  • Strong understanding of construction costs, subcontractor pricing, and project materials.
  • Experience estimating renovation, multifamily, commercial, hospitality, senior living, or occupied-site projects is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable using estimating software, Excel, templates, and internal systems.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple estimates at once.
  • Strong communication skills with internal teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Team-first attitude and willingness to learn A & Gโ€™s niche process.
  • Professional, humble, and collaborative approach.

Preferred Experience

  • Estimating experience in senior living, assisted living, multifamily, hospitality, commercial renovation, or occupied facilities.
  • Background working with repeatable scopes, unit turns, renovations, waterproofing, concrete, or site improvement projects.
  • Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related degree is helpful but not required.
  • Bilingual English / Spanish is a plus, but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $100,000โ€“$120,000+ annual salary, depending on experience.
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities.
  • Weekly pay.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off, holidays, vacation, and sick time.
  • Company-provided tablet or computer.
  • Monthly phone allowance.
  • Professional uniforms and safety equipment.
  • Training, mentorship, OSHA certifications, manufacturer training, and long-term growth opportunities.
  • One-year performance review with compensation growth potential based on performance.
