Why This Role Matters
As our Shelter Veterinarian, you'll play a vital role in ensuring every animal in our care receives high-quality medical treatment and compassionate attention. From performing life-changing spay/neuter surgeries to guiding treatment plans and supporting staff, your work will directly improve animal health, wellbeing, and adoptability.
What You'll Do
  • Provide comprehensive medical care, diagnosis, and treatment for shelter animals
  • Perform spay/neuter and other soft-tissue surgeries
  • Support vaccination clinics and diagnostic testing (x-ray, blood work, cytology)
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to support animal health and welfare decisions
  • Supervise and mentor Veterinary Assistants
  • Participate in humane euthanasia decisions in accordance with policy and law
  • Maintain accurate medical records and compliance standards

Qualifications
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree
  • Eligible for California veterinary license + DEA license
  • 2-3 years of private practice or shelter medicine experience preferred

  • Salary: $160,763 - $178,620 annually + $7,500 Hiring Bonus
