POSITION SUMMARY

Since Axiom Space is a very complex work environment, we are looking for a resilient, high-energy Human Systems Integration Engineer who will play a pivotal role in shaping the human centered design of Axiom hardware and the first commercial space station. This HIS engineer will work with engineers, physicians, scientists and Axiom crewmembers to ensure the complex systems being designed are focused on the human.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Axiom HSI Process

  • Support the development of Master Task Analyses

  • Collaborate with Responsible Engineers, Operations, Medical Operations, and Safety

  • Work with Axiom Station Responsible Engineers, Operations, Medical Operations and Safety on development of test plans, performing HSI analysis, and support develop the subsequent reports

  • Conduct user research, task analysis, and usability testing

  • Support test readiness activities and integration testing

  • Communicate program progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership

  • Communicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership

  • Implementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle

  • Perform additional job duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • Master's degree in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Human System Integration

  • 4 or more years of experience with HSI, human factors, or user-centered design

  • Proficiency in process mapping and documentation

  • Experience and knowledge of the NASA HSI process

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience and knowledge of the NASA HSI process

  • Track record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

  • Uses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challenges

  • Demonstrated organization skills to meet tight deadlines with high-quality results

  • This position may require access to export controlled technical data or technology subject to NASA regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
