Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Director Nursing Emergency Services for St. Bernardine Medical Center, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and coordinating the overall performance of our emergency services. You will oversee a 24-bed ER with an average daily census of 240, two urgent care centers, and a transitional care clinic.
Every day, you will direct the operations, work with Sr. Leadership on key initiatives, and work with other front-line leaders to ensure we maintain high standards of patient care in very fast paced environments. You will advise medical staff, other department heads, and administrators in matters related to patient care, clinical best practices, and strategies. You will communicate the organization's goals to the staff as we constantly seek to better serve our community by improving patient experience and delivering exceptional quality care.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be an experienced director, with a track record of success in mid to large sized hospitals overseeing emergency services. You must be competent and confident, with excellent communication skills one-on-one and in front of groups. Every interaction is an opportunity to share your knowledge with others and improve their understanding of a patient's needs.

Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) or equivalent education and experience and Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g., MSN/MBA/MHA) required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience required.

Required Licensure:
  • Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
