Human Resources Assistant (Non-Clinical)

Location: Hartford, CT, 06103

Contract Dates: 02/09/2026 – 05/09/2026 Duration: 12 Weeks Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hrs/week) Unit: SSO Human Resources Pay Rate: $19.25 – $21.00/hour

Position Summary

J. Edward Staffing is seeking a qualified Human Resources Assistant for a non-clinical, contract assignment supporting the SSO Human Resources team in Hartford, CT. This role is to provide maternity leave coverage and is local candidates only. This position is not temp-to-hire.

This is a 100% on-site role in downtown Hartford and requires daily business/professional attire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the HR department
  • Assist with HR documentation, reporting, and internal coordination
  • Support onboarding and employee-related HR processes
  • Utilize Excel and Microsoft 365 tools for reporting and tracking
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional experience in an office or corporate setting

  • Bachelor's degree required (In lieu of degree: 4 years of equivalent professional experience)

  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables required)

  • Proficient with Microsoft 365; Microsoft Teams experience a plus

  • Reliable transportation required

    • Free parking provided

    • Occasional local travel to New Colleague Orientation (twice monthly) and Hartford-area career events may be required
