JOB TITLE:

Assistant Lecturer/Program Assistant Director for the GraduateProgram in Nutrition and Dietetics (GPND), Family and ConsumerSciences

JOB PURPOSE:

Instructional and program support for the Human Nutrition & Food/Dietetics unit, Family & Consumer Sciences

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Human Nutrition and Food and the Graduate Program in Nutrition & Dietetics (GPND). These courses may include 1) food production/management; 2) professionalism in dietetics; 3) community nutrition; and 4) therapeutic nutrition. Additional courses as part of the required teaching load may be negotiable according to the applicant's background and expertise. Other essential duties include program coordination for the GPND which is governed by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Responsibilities include coordination of academic progression and GPND student learning experiences, preceptor and site rotation support, and assisting with accreditation requirements.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsibilities will also include contributing to professional, departmental, and university service activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Earned master's degree in human nutrition, nutrition science, or related area
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
  • Minimum of three years professional experience post-credentialing
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Earned doctorate or >5 years post-credentialing experience
  • Experience with college/university-level teaching; program assessment and/or management
  • Professional involvement in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and/or state affiliate
  • Experience as a preceptor for dietetic students
  • Effective communication and collaborative skills that facilitate an inclusive, diverse, equitable, and all-around positive environment

WORK LOCATION:

On-Campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions on campus, understanding our location is at 7,220 feet above sea level.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the United States, as sponsorship for any work authorization or work visas is not available for this position.
