The Opportunity
The HVAC Technician is a working Service Mechanical Journeyman and skilled craftsman in their trade. A self-starter who has the ability and confidence to work alone or as a member of 2-3 person team including field technicians. Interaction with customers, attention to detail in executing quoted jobs, ability to help quote jobs, scheduling hours, promoting safety and constant communication plays a key role in this position. Must be computer literate with a strong ability to develop, close and manage quoted, PM and T&M work.


What You’ll Do

  • Installation: Installing new HVAC systems
  • Maintenance: Performing routine preventative maintenance tasks
  • Repair: Diagnosing system errors, identifying the root cause, and performing necessary repairs or replacements of defective parts
  • Safety: Follow P1 safety protocols when working with equipment and in various work environments

Requirements and Qualifications:

Required:

  • Journeyman Pipefitter with minimum 5 years of experience servicing or maintaining commercial or industrial HVAC equipment.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Refrigeration license.
  • Experience with OEM HVAC equipment software.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment such as hand tools, computers (preferred), diagnostic and testing equipment.
  • Ability to perform brazing and soldering.
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience reading wiring diagrams.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a drug screen.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check. Must be able to meet P1 Service qualifications to operate a vehicle on company business. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • This position is represented by Plumbers and Steamers Local Union #33. Being a current member of this local union is a plus, however it is NOT required. If not a current member of this local union, then must meet union eligibility requirements.

Preferred:

  • Trade school or secondary school
  • Manufacturer’s training on commercial HVAC equipment
