My team supports design needs of acquisition, engagement, and growth of the membership initiative, which is a top priority for the Best Buy organization. Project Description: We are looking to increase our design capacity to support the acquisition workstream. Position Summary/Job Description:

As a contract Experience Designer in the Relationship Platform – Membership Acquisition and Engagement Team, you will work with a highly collaborative team of experience designers, content designers, researchers, strategists, product managers, and engineers to create compelling human-centered experiences focused on helping customers learn about, enroll in, and maximize the benefits of our paid membership program in their lives. We're an integral part of Product Experience Design at Best Buy, a team that designs and implements innovative, human, end-to-end experiences for our customers.

The contract Experience Designer role promotes Human Centered Design, leads in defining and facilitating discovery efforts, is responsible for the communication of design intent, and advocates for continuous improvement of customer experiences.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work with Experience/UX designers, product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to create solutions and align customer and business needs.
  • Leverage research, site metrics, and usability findings to make recommendations and drive strategy.
  • Work to understand the problem space and foster a shared vision of the future.
  • Participate in a culture of collaboration, feedback, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with research, analytics, consumer insights and A/B testing teams on methodology and approach for the testing of XD strategies.
  • Collaborate with leadership on the evolution of our Experience Design practice.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Online or PDF case studies, or presentation that demonstrates experience design knowledge and skills
  • At least 2 years working as an embedded product designer alongside product management and engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an Experience/UX Designer or 6+ yrs in a Design related role.
  • Advanced knowledge of UX Design principles and deliverables (designs, wireframes, prototypes, etc.).
  • Advanced skills with tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, Axure, Miro, etc.
  • History demonstrating human-centered design, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, usability standards and best practices.
  • Ability to present designs, drive consensus and negotiate trade-offs.
  • Ability to work through design solutions and understand the technology behind those solutions.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects.
  • History of proactive communication, storytelling and interpersonal skills.
  • History of balancing the agile work environment and iterative product development while maintaining a cohesive view of the overall customer journey.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human-Centered Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Information Architecture, Communication, related field or equivalent industry experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience working in Ecommerce or other multi-channel design environment.
  • Ecommerce experience.
  • Experience designing for Accessibility Standards.
  • Ability to handle multiple efforts, attention to detail, relationship-building, strong communication skills, and accountability.
