Job description

Amazon's Talent Solutions Product Design & Research team is looking for a Senior UX Designer who thrives in ambiguity, can operate with limited guidance, and brings deep craft expertise to solve complex design problems across our hiring product portfolio. You will work across the Recruiter Hub, Hiring Hub, and Candidate Hub, delivering end-to-end design solutions for complex workflows that impact recruiters, hiring managers, and candidates globally. You will partner closely with product management, engineering, and research to deliver human-centered experiences that simplify hiring at scale.
Key job responsibilities
• Deliver end-to-end design solutions for complex hiring workflows across multiple products, from research and strategy through high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes.
• Influence product roadmaps by identifying design opportunities, synthesizing user research, and advocating for customer needs with product and engineering partners.
• Define and refine design standards including interaction patterns, methods, and processes; drive adoption across teams.
• Synthesize conflicting data from qualitative and quantitative research to inform customer experience and business decisions.
• Partner with engineering to ensure design feasibility, accounting for system limitations, scaling factors, edge cases, and architectural decisions.
• Lead design collaboration across diverse groups including product, engineering, and research; drive alignment on complex, cross-team initiatives.
• Design AI-informed experiences that leverage intelligent, data-driven interfaces to improve hiring decisions.
• Mentor and coach designers within the organization; contribute to professional development and participate in technical promotion assessments.
• Present and critique work in org-level reviews, ensuring prioritized focus and outcomes; communicate decisions clearly to leaders up to 3 levels above.
• Identify and resolve root causes of widespread design problems; build consensus across discordant views and enable innovation.
A day in the life
You deliver design solutions on complex, multi-product hiring challenges while staying close to the craft. You partner with product and engineering leads to shape roadmaps, participate in design critiques, and present user insights to stakeholders. You are comfortable working with limited guidance on ambiguous problems, bringing structure and rigor to define the right solution. You mentor peers, contribute to org-level design reviews, and thrive in a fast-paced environment delivering at Amazon scale.
About the team
Talent Solutions Product Design & Research designs the products that power how Amazon hires - the tools recruiters, hiring managers, interviewers, and candidates use across the hiring journey. We own the end-to-end experience across the Recruiter Hub, Hiring Hub, and Candidate Hub, and increasingly put AI to work in service of faster, fairer, more human hiring. We are designers, researchers, and writers who work backward from the people we serve, enable teams across the organization with scalable design patterns and systems, and raise the bar on quality at scale.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of design experience
- Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
- Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps
- Experience working with stakeholders to plan and execute programs that are strategic in nature
- Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards
- Experience with best practices for User Interface Design, Information Architecture, and Interaction Design
- Experience mentoring, coaching, and influencing colleagues, collaborators, and stakeholders
- Experience solving complex design problems with limited guidance across multiple products or a complex product suite.
- Experience leading design projects from strategy through execution, including user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and CX specifications.
- Experience influencing partner teams and contributing to organization-level design strategy.
- Proficiency with current accessibility standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in analyzing data to drive decisions
- Bachelor's degree or above in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or Master's degree
- Experience defining or refining interaction patterns and design standards that scale across multiple teams.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and experience designing intelligent, data-driven interfaces.
- Experience with marketplace, two-sided platform, HR, or hiring product domains.
- Full understanding of an organization's technical systems and ability to decouple complex dependencies.
