Job description

This is a PhD research assistant (RA) position working with Dr. Zhan Zhang in the School of Computer Science and Information Systems on a research project aimed at developing an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered clinical decision support tool for emergency care providers. The project is funded by the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health. The student will work within an interdisciplinary team of experts from Pace University and partner institutions with expertise in Human-Computer Interaction, AI, Machine Learning, and Emergency Medicine.

In this role, your major duties and responsibilities include:

  • Designing system features and user interfaces;
  • Conducting participatory design workshops and usability evaluations with emergency care providers;
  • Implementing the front end and back end of the mobile decision support tool;
  • Participating in weekly project meetings and contributing to project goals, requirements, processes, deliverables, and timelines;
  • Writing academic research papers and presenting the work at different venues.
