Job description

Zions Bancorporation is currently looking for a UX Designer - Digital Experience Product Designer. The UX Designer will play a key role in shaping user-centered digital experiences by leveraging expertise in UX and interaction design, responsive web design, and UI frameworks. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, utilizing wireframe tools and design software to create engaging, accessible, and visually compelling digital products.
This individual will apply in depth analytical and problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of information architecture and user psychology, and a keen eye for detail to deliver high-quality design solutions. The UX Designer will also communicate design concepts, advocate for user needs, and manage multiple priorities will help drive the success of our digital initiatives.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver user-centered digital experiences across web and mobile platforms using UX and interaction design best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, including both waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using industry-standard design software and wireframe tools.
  • Apply responsive web design principles and UI frameworks to ensure accessibility and consistency across devices.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and iterate on solutions.
  • Translate complex concepts into clear, intuitive, and visually engaging user interfaces.
  • Advocate for user needs and tell a compelling, user-centered story to stakeholders.
  • Manage time effectively across multiple projects and competing priorities, meeting deadlines and maintaining accountability for deliverables.
  • Apply knowledge of information architecture, gestalt principles, and user psychology to enhance user experience.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in user experience (UX) or interaction design, responsive web design, and UI frameworks.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and large-scale software development lifecycles, including waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of wireframe tools and design software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and sell design ideas.
  • Strong understanding of information design/architecture, gestalt principles, and user psychology.
  • Proficiency in graphic design, motion graphics, digital art, typography, color, layout, and awareness of materials/textures.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus.
  • Excellent client relationship skills and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Behavioral Science, Experience Design, or a related field.

Work Location:
This position will be a hybrid work schedule (3 days a week in office) at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah. Located on the former Sharon Steel Mill superfund site, the sustainably built campus is the company's primary technology and operations center.
