Job Description

FRONT END ENGINEER PRINCIPAL
GDIT is seeking an experienced Frontend Developer to join our team of building scalable, maintainable and high-performance UI applications using a microservices architecture. As a Frontend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing application frontend framework and technologies, with a focus on building modular, loosely coupled components that integrate with our backend microservices. You will work closely with our development team to build reusable UI components, optimize UI performance and ensure accessibility.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
Experience with version control systems like Git (GitHub, GitLab, Etc)

Building and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating them with UI components

Strong understanding of UI performance optimization techniques, such as code splitting, lazy loading, and caching

Hands on experience with frontend frameworks such as Angular, and proficiency in building reusable UI components

Familiarity with UI development tools such as Angular, HTML, Material, and CSS preprocessors like Sass

Agile development methodologies

Designing and implementing UI components that interact with backend services


WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED

Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
Experience: 8+ years of related experience
Technical skills:

  • Strongunderstanding of UI design principles, human-computer interaction and user experience (UX) best practices
  • Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript, with a focus on building responsive and interactive UI components
  • Experience with Utilizing CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with UI testing frameworks
  • Familiarity with UI design systems and style guides, such as Material UI or Bootstrap
  • Experience with building and maintaining complex, data-driven UI components
  • Knowledge of accessibility guidelines and best practices for guiding accessible UI components
  • Familiarity with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD
  • Experience working on large scale complex UID codebase
  • Experience with other frontend Frameworks such as React or Vue.js
  • Familiarity with backend technologies such as Java, Python or Node.js

Security clearance level: Must be able to obtain TS/SCI with Polygraph

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $161,500 - $218,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
