Job description

As the User Experience Designer, you will help shape the digital future of the credit union and champion the financial wellbeing of our member-owners, using deep user empathy to translate members' needs, goals, and financial anxieties into intuitive, seamless digital journeys.
This role blends storytelling with hands-on design craft - partnering with our digital agency and teams across the credit union to bridge the gap between complex financial services and human-centered design, from research and prototyping through final execution.
As the User Experience Designer with CFCU, you will:
  • Design experiences members can trust. Blend storytelling and user interface design for digital properties and devices with a mobile-first, responsive approach, and design aesthetics that bring our brand to life across digital campaigns.
  • Champion the user. Present a visual hierarchy that harnesses empathy for the people the interface is designed for, and complete and advance iterative testing and learning to keep improving the experience.
  • Turn insight into solutions. Translate business and user needs into solution concepts and experiences that are meaningful, easy to use, and engaging, and apply user-centered design, research, testing, and rapid prototyping.
  • Own the full design process. Serve across all areas of user experience design - information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototype engineering, and content - and interpret data and qualitative feedback to guide decisions.
  • Build the artifacts that guide our work. Create prototypes, wireframes, personas, user journeys, and storyboards optimized for a wide range of devices, to conceptualize and convey new user experience concepts.
  • Optimize based on real behavior. Review analytics and user testing to simplify and improve existing user journeys, analyze user response in high-traffic areas, and identify design and user experience issues and devise elegant solutions.

We are looking for a combination of:
  • Degree in design, HCI, or a related field strongly preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of dedicated UX design experience, with a portfolio of case studies demonstrating end-to-end design processes.
  • Proven experience designing for Kentico CMS environments or similar platforms, including working within Kentico widgets and templates.
  • Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Suite.
  • Advanced HTML and CSS skills.
  • Experience building low- and high-fidelity interactive prototypes.
  • Experience conducting user interviews and usability testing.
  • Strong understanding of typography, color, and layout, with the ability to design clear menus, maps, and taxonomies.
  • Experience designing inclusive experiences that comply with ADA and WCAG standards.
  • Understanding of AI's impact on SEO, AEO, and GEO, and how it shapes development and content strategy.
