Job description

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) provides technical development and commercialization of domestic, sustainable sourcing of critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies for use in batteries that power electric cars, grid storage applications, and consumer electronics and tools. Our first of kind systems produce commercial-scale battery materials thataresold into the battery manufacturing supply chain.

We’relooking for a Corporate Controller to join our growing Accounting and Finance team. This role will be critical in supporting our growth and will have a significant impact on our company, with the opportunity to work on multiple technical accounting projects, research to solve ambiguous problems and implement novel accounting policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment, be driven to research by curiosity, work cross-functionally, and be adaptable to changing responsibilities and priorities.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations ensuring compliance with the business's accounting policies and procedures.
  • Overall responsibility for the accurateandtimelyclosing of the monthly, quarterly, and annual books and recordsin accordance withUS GAAP.
  • Lead the preparation of required SEC filings.
  • Review monthly manufacturing cost accounting entries (manufacturing and purchase price variances) to ensure bookingin accordance withcompany accounting policies.
  • Assess andevaluatefinancial performance of the organizationregardinglong-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Monitor inventory reports to ensure accuracy, resolve variances, and perform variance and trend analysis, financial and margin analysis.
  • Lead, train, develop, and motivated accounting staff tomaintaina high levelof employee commitment and competence for sustained and self-reliant performance and achievement of departmental and organizational goals.
  • Act as a strategic business partner to the senior executive leadership team.
  • Ensurea strong systemof internal controls exists and is properlymonitored; lead efforts for SOX compliance as the company transitions to accelerated filer status.
  • Primary point of contact for external auditors, accountingadvisorsand consultants during quarter- and year-endaudit.
  • Preparation and/or review of audit schedules Ad hoc analysis/projects.
  • Identify,evaluateand implement process improvement and efficiencies opportunities to reduce manual work and increase automation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 10+ years of experience desired Strong GAAP knowledge
  • Manufacturing experience (cost accounting knowledge)
  • Mix of finance/accounting experience Proven strong leadership skills
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Expected Pay Range

$150k - $195k per year.

Compensation for this position may vary based on a number of individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The total compensation package may also include additional components such as bonus, equity, and benefits, which will be detailed upon offer of employment.
