Job Summary: Hughes General Contractors, Inc. is actively searching for several experienced CONCRETE CARPENTER/FINISHERS to join our growing team! Individuals will perform tasks involving commercial construction projects in Washington County, UT. (IE: St. George, Escalante, Enterprise, knab, etc.)


Essential Functions: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. It does not imply that all positions within the class perform all of the duties listed, nor does it necessarily list all possible duties that may be assigned.)

  • Be able to smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete such as floors, walks, curb/gutter using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards
  • Be willing to work in somewhat extreme weather conditions
  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent/Foreman, Safety Manager, Safety Officer or HR Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and carry heavy objects (50 pounds)
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with concrete
  • Have completed or be willing to compete OSHA 10hr (we are able to provide this training if necessary)
  • Willingness and ability to perform manual work and follow verbal and written instructions

Special Requirements: Must be able to pass controlled substance tests prior to and at all times during employment.
