Job description


The Inventory Manager position is a leadership role responsible for managing a team of Analysts who help maintain inventory across multiple facets of our daily operation. You will successfully and simultaneously manage multiple inventories, help provide industry-leading customer service, and ensure superior and expeditious execution of customer inventory requirements. As an Inventory Manager, you and your team will be part of the backbone of the daily operation at Hub Group.
Essential Job Functions
  • Manage, train, and support a team of Inventory Analysts.
  • Implement new procedures and systems.
  • Create and manage reporting to monitor team performance.
  • Handle strategic reporting for executive level leadership.
  • Manage daily execution of inventory reconciliations for applicable accounts, including Physical Inventory and Book to book reconciliations.
  • Monitor relevant systems to ensure proper inventory methods are followed.
  • Monitor and isolate potential errors, issues, miscommunication, and sub-optimal performance by reviewing monthly inventory reports; recommend improvement and implement changes based on results of research.
  • Manage and develop best practice standard operating procedures for inventory-related functions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Understanding of inventory principles required.
  • 2+ years inventory experience in distribution and logistics industry preferred.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Sufficient familiarity with web-based tools.
  • Strong understanding of product distribution is desired.
  • Highly organized; attentive to details.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to identify and assess clients' needs, and to craft compelling solutions.

Salary: $70,300/year base salary
This is an estimated range based on the circumstances at the time of posting, however it may change based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, education, market factors, geographical location, budget, and demand.
