Job description

Job Title: Heat Treat / Quench Machine Operator
Location: Oxnard, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time
Pay: $18.00/hour

Job Summary

Operate and monitor heat treat and quenching machines to process metal parts and ensure they meet hardness specifications. Responsible for setting temperatures, checking material quality, and maintaining production standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate quenching and heat treat equipment
  • Load and unload parts into machines
  • Monitor temperature, oil, and water levels
  • Check hardness using Rockwell (HRC) testing
  • Inspect parts for defects and ensure quality standards
  • Read work orders and follow specifications
  • Adjust machine settings based on material type and thickness
  • Record production data and complete job tracking in system
  • Maintain clean and safe work area
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing or machine operation preferred
  • Basic math and measuring skills
  • Ability to read work orders and follow instructions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
Work Environment
  • Indoor manufacturing setting (not climate controlled)
  • Standing, walking, and repetitive motion required
  • Exposure to heat, machinery, and industrial conditions
  • PPE required (steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses)

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate across shifts
