Job Title: Quench Machine Operator

Job Summary
- Set up, operate, and monitor machines used in the quenching process
- Ensure parts meet required hardness specifications using Rockwell (HRC) testing
- Maintain quality standards and support production efficiency
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate quenching machines according to job specifications
- Load and position workpieces properly based on size and material type
- Monitor machine operations, gauges, and fluid levels (oil/water)
- Adjust temperature, timing, and machine settings based on material requirements
- Perform Rockwell hardness testing on completed parts
- Inspect finished products for defects and ensure quality standards are met
- Measure parts using micrometers and other precision tools
- Record production data and complete job documentation in system
- Communicate shift updates and job status with team members
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and report any issues to supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in manufacturing or machine operation (preferred)
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools
- Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions

Work Environment
- Manufacturing setting with standard industrial noise levels

Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, bending, and repetitive movements throughout shift
- Frequent use of hands for handling tools and materials
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (assistance required for heavier items)
Safety & Equipment
- Required use of PPE (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves)
- Exposure to machinery and minor workplace hazards
Additional Responsibilities
- Monitor and record job progress in production systems
- Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance (oil levels, etc.)
- Follow scheduling priorities and supervisor instructions
- Ensure accurate completion and sign-off of work orders
