Job description

Position Overview

The Progress Place is seeking a dedicated HR Specialist to support the growth of our organization through the recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and integration of qualified professionals. This role is vital to ensuring that we attract, hire, and retain top talent, including Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs), Supervised Therapists, and other professional staff. The HR Specialist will serve as the first point of contact for candidates, manage the full-cycle recruitment process, and coordinate onboarding to ensure a seamless transition for new hires into our team.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Hiring

• Develop and post job descriptions for various roles across multiple platforms.

• Source, screen, and interview candidates to ensure alignment with organizational standards.

• Coordinate interview schedules with hiring managers.

• Maintain accurate candidate records and pipelines.

Onboarding & Orientation

• Prepare offer letters and facilitate new hire paperwork.

• Organize and deliver employee orientation sessions.

• Ensure all credentialing, licensing, and compliance requirements are collected and documented.

• Support new staff with systems access, training schedules, and company culture integration.

HR Compliance & Operations

• Maintain HR chart compliance by ensuring employee records are accurate, updated, and meet company, state, and federal requirements.

• Track licenses, certifications, and renewals for all clinical and professional staff.

• Maintain employee files in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.

• Assist with employee relations, communications, and engagement initiatives.

• Provide administrative HR support as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).

• 1–2 years of HR, recruitment, or administrative experience (healthcare or behavioral health setting a plus). • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, recruitment methods, and onboarding processes.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, HR systems, and applicant tracking platforms. Skills & Competencies
