The Innovations in Community Health Advocacy, Research, and Messaging (I-CHARM) Lab seeks a Student Research Specialist (Data Analyst) to support data cleaning, analysis (descriptive and statistical), and reporting of quantitative and qualitative data across various research projects.
The I-CHARM Lab, led by Dr. Daisy Le (Ph.D., MPH/MA) and locally based in the DC area at George Washington University, focuses on improving health behaviors and outcomes in underserved and vulnerable populations and has partnered with both government and community-based organizations to serve the Washington-Baltimore Metropolitan (WBMA) community.
This position will primarily support a K01 project to conduct formative research and pilot test the provider-level and patient-level components of the My Self-Sampling for HPV Awareness, Results, and Empowerment (MySHARE+) intervention. MySHARE+ aims to harness the power of technology and apply a multilevel approach to promote the adoption of cervical cancer screening among under/never-screened women living with HIV, a vulnerable population.
The Student Research Specialist (Data Analyst) will work with a small research team and support data management and quantitative analysis for baseline and follow-up surveys across various projects.
Compensation for this hourly student position will be $20/hour for up to 10 hours/week. This position will begin in August 2026.
[ADDT DETAILS] The student will contribute to the design and implementation of quantitative research projects, analyze collected data, summarize conclusions, develop reports, prepare presentations of relevant findings and conclusions, and recommend appropriate actions. The student will also act in a lead role in the summarization and preparation of manuscripts, presentations, and proposals by providing and presenting statistical information in the forms of tables, charts, or graphs. The student will also review the work of support staff and determine how analysis will be presented.
Standard Position Description

The student will perform administrative and research tasks under general supervision by a faculty member or research coordinator. Tasks may include: contribute to peer reviewed research and write research memos of findings, assist with presentations, supervision and training of other student staff, write and run statistical programs to analysis data. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental/faculty needs.
