Job description

The Company
2025 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Canada Recipient & Fast 500 North America Recipient

SpryPoint is modernizing how utilities serve their communities. As a high-growth software company, we're shaking up the status quo in the utility industry with the first and only truly cloud-native customer service and operations platform purpose-built for modern utilities.

Founded by industry veterans in 2011, we've grown from a profitable startup to a rapidly scaling company of 300+ employees serving 100+ utility clients across North America and the Caribbean. Our mission is simple: utility leaders should expect more from their technology providers.

Utilities face urgent demand to replace inefficient legacy systems while managing increasing operational complexity, and evolving customer expectations. With more than a decade of experience, and a track record of successful implementations spanning water, electric, and gas utilities, SpryPoint has built a reputation as a trusted and mission-critical partner to utilities across North America.

We deliver comprehensive solutions including SpryCIS, SpryEngage, SpryMobile, and SpryWallet that modernize the entire meter-to-cash process. What sets us apart? Our "updates, not upgrades" approach, user-centric design, and unwavering focus on customer success.

Backed by strategic investment from Norwest Venture Partners since 2023, and an exciting new investment partnership from Insight Partners announced in 2026, we're accelerating our growth while staying true to our core values: lead with kindness, vision with impact, radical honesty, bold disruption, keep it simple, and execute with excellence.

Join our award-winning team in transforming an essential industry that powers communities across the Americas.

Position Overview

We're looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our remote-first team at SpryPoint. Reporting to UX Manager Antonella Espinoza, you'll lead design for SpryCIS -  our enterprise utility billing and customer information system -  owning a set of squads and working in triads with product owners and engineers to deliver intuitive user experiences.

Design is still finding its place on the SpryCIS team, but the appetite is real, and the seat is yours. You'll be expected to lead: within your triads, with your stakeholders, and in showing the team what's possible when designers are in the room shaping solutions from the start.
Responsibilities
  • Lead design across your SpryCIS squads alongside a Staff Designer, helping build a shared design practice in a product area that's ready for it.
  • Collaborate with your product and engineering partners in a triad. Advocate for the user, build real relationships, and help the people around you make better decisions because design is in the room.
  • Translate complex workflows and product requirements into experiences that feel clear and obvious. These are people doing demanding, real-world jobs, and the design should make that easier.
  • Bring visual craft to CIS. Use typography, hierarchy, and considered use of space to make complex information easier to read and act on.
  • Run user research and usability testing to get close to how utility professionals actually work, then let that shape the design.
  • Produce wireframes, user flows, and prototypes that make your thinking visible and easy for product and engineering to build from.
  • Engage in design critiques, share what you're learning, and push back when something isn't right. You're part of a team that cares about craft and making each other better.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • 4+ years of UX design experience and a portfolio that shows your thinking. Bonus if some of that work is in enterprise SaaS, workflow-heavy, or data-dense environments.
  • You care about visual craft and it shows in your work. You know a beautiful interface is also a more usable one, and your portfolio demonstrates that in functional software, not just polished consumer apps.
  • You've led design on a product area, not just worked within it. You own the process and the output.
  • Comfortable working in a triad with product and engineering. You can influence without always having the authority, negotiate when priorities conflict, and get teams that haven't worked closely with design before on your side.
  • You share what you know and you bring people along. Mentoring junior designers comes naturally to you.
  • You use data: usage patterns, analytics, customer feedback. You know how to let the numbers inform your decisions and back up your thinking.
  • Proficiency in Figma and other design and prototyping tools.
  • Solid understanding of interaction design and information architecture, particularly in complex, task-heavy interfaces.
  • Bonus: You're curious about AI and interested in how it could change how we design.
Our Hiring Process!

with UX Manager & Team
