Job description

The mill man is responsible for milling all production components. They are responsible for operating and maintaining CNC equipment. They are to assist in milling custom components, lumber, molding, and large panels.

  • Clear understanding of tooling and saw blades.
  • Ability to identify materials
  • Strong working knowledge of panel products, solid wood, metals, and plastics
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Identify waste to be saved or thrown away.
  • Understand how to achieve a square, straight, and defect-free edge.
  • Ability to cut straight and square panels.
  • Understand how to change tools quickly and effectively.
  • Strong mathematical skills - fractions, decimals, imperial and metric
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Understand process flow and mill in the appropriate order.
  • Understand and identify how to get the best yield out of the material.
  • Understand how to store material in a safe way.
