Job description

Starting Salary: $40.73 - $43.23/hr for 0-4 years,10 years of experience is $47.27, 20 years of experience is $52.51, and higher for more years of experience.
In addition to your hourly wages, you will be paid a relocation bonus of $20,000.00, payable in two (2) equal installments:
  • $10,000 payable on the pay date that corresponds with the pay period after the first full week of work.
  • $10,000 payable upon successful completion of six (6) months of employment.
  • $20,000.00 is for out of state relocation
  • $15,000.00 is for in-state relocation
Agency Placement Fee: 15% for offers over $50 an hour/17% for offers $35-$49 an hour/20% for anything under $35 an hour
Utilizes the nursing process to plan and provide total, direct patient care to patients on the nursing unit according to established standards and practices.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Registered Nurse (RN) (ICU) provides primary patient care and supervision for other care team providers, as outlined in this position description. Standards for nursing practice have been established by the Alaska State Board of Nursing, state statute, and the American Nurses Association. The Registered Nurse provides care to clients of SPH in accordance with established policies and evidence-based practice standards, as well as state and federal regulations. The Registered Nurse performs all of the activities required to provide primary patient care on a specialty-based medical/surgical unit, and works in other areas as appropriate based on experience and training. The Registered Nurse may be required to provide nursing care in other nursing departments of the facility to meet patient/resident care needs. S/he will support and role-model SPH's values and behaviors while working as a collaborative and inter-disciplinary team member providing high quality, safe, and cost-effective patient care.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
The position of Registered Nurse requires that the person possess a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Alaska. Speaking, listening, and basic writing skills are required to communicate with others, and to document care given. Numerical ability is required to calculate drug dosages.
