Job description

Event Photographer & Content Creator: CommandFest Toronto 2026
Presented by F2F Games

Location: Montecassino Hotel & Event Centre, 3710 Chesswood Dr Suite 220, North York, ON M3J 2W4
Date: Saturday, August 22, 2026 (8:00 AM – 7:00 PM, plus the Commander After Dark VIP party that evening)
Type: One-day freelance / contract
Pay: $400 flat rate for the day

Your Commander. Your Crew. Join the Gathering.

CommandFest Toronto is F2F Games' celebration of everything Commander. It's a free-to-enter weekend of Magic: The Gathering at the Montecassino Hotel & Event Centre, packed with on-demand Commander pods, Hobbit Draft, a prize wall, vendor booths, and a stacked lineup of roughly 20 artists, streamers, and community creators.

Saturday is the biggest day of the weekend, capped off by the Commander After Dark VIP party: dinner, a meet-and-greet, and the best atmosphere of the event.

About the Role

We're looking for a photographer/content creator who can capture the magic of Saturday at CommandFest Toronto: the games, the community, the creators, and the after-dark party, and turn it into content we can actually use across our website and socials. This is a one-day gig: Saturday, August 22, paid as a flat $400.

What You'll Do

  • Shoot high-res photos throughout the day: Command Zone pods, Hobbit Draft, prize wall moments, vendor booths (F2F, Magic Stronghold, Fusion Gaming, House of Cards), and crowd/atmosphere shots.
  • Get portraits and candids of the artists and content creators in the lineup: booth shots, signings, meet-and-greets.
  • Cover the Commander After Dark VIP party in the evening: dinner, meet-and-greet, and party energy.
  • Shoot short-form video/reels throughout the day: "day in the life" clips, creator spotlights, hype reels, optimized for Instagram/TikTok (9:16 vertical).
  • Review shots on the fly for focus, framing, and lighting; reshoot if something's off.
  • Deliver an edited, organized set of photos and clips within [X] business days of the event.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience shooting events, portraits, or conventions. Bonus points if you've covered gaming or TCG events before.
  • Your own camera gear and an editing workflow you can move fast with.
  • Comfortable on your feet for a long, high-energy day (8:00 AM – 7:00 PM, plus an evening event).
  • An eye for the candid, weird, and wonderful moments, not just posed shots.
  • Bonus: short-form video/reel editing chops.

Compensation

  • $400 flat rate for the day.
  • [Meals / parking on-site: confirm]
  • Photo/video credit on F2F's channels.
  • First look at future F2F Tour and CommandFest gigs.
