Position:            Full-time Housekeeper

Schedule:          Monday – Friday (hours TBD)

Location:           New Canaan, CT

Salary:                $40 – 50/hour, depending on experience


Overview:

An active family of six is seeking an experienced, diligent, and highly organized full-time Housekeeper to maintain their 12,000-square-foot home in New Canaan, CT. This is a comprehensive housekeeping position. The Housekeeper will be responsible for all tasks necessary to keep the home clean, orderly, well maintained, and comfortable, including cleaning, laundry, ironing, changing linens, putting away clothing and household items, organizing rooms and closets, caring for outdoor furniture, and occasionally running household errands.

 

The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, discreet, and capable of independently identifying and completing work that needs to be done. The candidate should have excellent systematic cleaning and laundry skills, take pride in maintaining a beautiful home, and be willing to assist with a broad range of household needs.

 

Responsibilities:


Comprehensive Housekeeping and Cleaning

  • Perform daily and detailed cleaning throughout the home, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, and disinfecting, as appropriate.
  • Make beds, change bed linens, replace towels, and ensure bedrooms and bathrooms are consistently clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Empty waste and recycling containers and maintain cleanliness in household utility, laundry, and storage areas.
  • Clean and maintain outdoor furniture, cushions, tables, seating areas, and other exterior entertaining spaces.
  • Notice and promptly report any maintenance issues, damage, needed repairs, or household supplies that need replenishment.

Laundry, Ironing, and Clothing Care

  • Manage the family’s laundry from beginning to end, including sorting, washing, drying, ironing, steaming, folding, hanging, and putting away clothing and household linens.
  • Change and launder bed linens and towels on a regular schedule.

 

Organization and Household Upkeep

  • Keep rooms, closets, cabinets, pantries, drawers, storage areas, and household items neat and organized.
  • Monitor and restock deliveries of cleaning products, toiletries, paper goods, laundry supplies, and other household necessities.

 

Errands and Household Assistance

  • Run miscellaneous household errands as requested.
  • Provide service and support to Chef when family entertains, including serving meals


Qualifications and Requirements:

·      Previous experience in an estate or luxury hotel to create a seamless sophisticated level of service

·      Honest, discreet, and trustworthy

·      Professional, good listener, able to follow directions

·      Proactive, detail oriented and “can do” attitude

·      Proficient with English language – spoken, reading and writing

·      Must drive and have own car
