Job description

A warm, globally minded family of four is seeking a live-in nanny to join them on their adventures and help care for their two boys, ages 1 and 3. The family splits their time between Costa Rica, Spain, and NYC. The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday and is flexible, but will generally be 40 hours, with a heavier schedule during travel. Both children attend school for part of the day in all three locations, and the family has supplemental childcare as well, but they are seeking a head nanny who is able to supervise and schedule other childcare, and be in charge of the children's educational development. They are seeking a professional who can provide seamless, nurturing childcare while fostering intellectual, emotional, and social development through play-based learning. The family values education and child development in a loving, structured environment. Live-in accommodations are provided in all locations.

  • Provide full-time, live-in childcare for a one-year-old and a three-year-old
  • Implement age-appropriate educational activities and play-based learning experiences
  • Support the three-year-old’s pre-K learning and extend it through enrichment activities outside school hours
  • Encourage language, motor, social, and cognitive development tailored to each child’s needs
  • Plan and prepare healthy meals and snacks for the children, when needed
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment
  • Travel with the family to all locations, ensuring seamless care and stability during transitions
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily activities, developmental milestones, and progress reports
  • Provide light household assistance related to childcare as needed- all homes are staffed, and housekeeping is not required

  • Able to create structured, yet playful learning experiences based on Montessori, Waldorf, or other child-centered educational philosophies
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Adventurous and excited to travel and explore the world
  • Knowledgeable and experienced, but ultimately willing to defer to parents
  • Warm, patient, adaptable, and proactive personality
  • Able and willing to work with involved parents in a team capacity

  • Ability to get a tourist visa and stay in the US for several weeks/months
  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a nanny or an early childhood educator with professional nanny experience
  • Formal educational background in teaching, early childhood education/a related field, or in the private home
  • Experience with sports or enjoys this healthy lifestyle in their own lives
  • Fluent and well-spoken in English; Spanish fluency preferred
  • Flexibility to travel internationally and domestically with the family
  • Driving is not required but would be a bonus
  • The ability to swim and supervise children in the pool and ocean is highly desired

  • Compensation depends on experience, $110-140k++ for top candidates
  • Health insurance reimbursement depending on need
